Ingrams Solicitors support Hull City Council's Walk to School Initiative

1st October 2008

Leading Hull Law Firm, Ingrams Solicitors have supplied hundreds of reflective vests for children across the city in the lead up to Walk to School month in October.

The vests will be given out to primary school children from several local schools who will wear them as they walk to and from school.

This year National Walk to School month takes place during October.  Hull City Council will be working with local schools to promote the benefits of walking in an attempt to increase the number of children who walk to school.

Walking has great benefits for children, helping them stay healthy and alert, and also for the environment by reducing traffic congestion and exhaust fumes during the 'school run'.  The health and safety of these children is paramount, and thanks to Ingrams, many children will be safely seen in their high visibility vests.

Louise Holtby is Hull City Council’s School Travel Advisor.  She said:

“We are really grateful to Ingrams for the donation of these vests, and hope that many children will benefit from them.  Walking to school is a great way for children and families to stay healthy and we hope that we can spark enthusiasm throughout October that will encourage more people to walk to school all year round.”

Paul Stott, Senior Partner at Ingrams Solicitors, Estuary Business Park, Hessle commented “ We are really pleased to support this initiative – as well as the obvious health benefits we hope to encourage the culture of regular use of safety equipment such as high visibility jackets and general road safety awareness throughout the community.”
